Antique Colt Model 1877 Thunderer Sherriff's Model Revolver w/ Alameda County Sherriff's Holster
Description: This is a really unique little Colt Thunderer that fields a little bit of a story, this example letters shipped to Hubbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co. Chicago Illinois. Shipped July 9, 1883 with a 3 1/2” barrel. Now this Colt sports a 2 1/4” barrel. Obviously cut during the period, the front sight just makes this in my opinion to cool. I absolutely love the look it gives the gun. The etched panel on the barrel is near perfect. The gun itself shows approximately 80% nickel finish. The cylinder is where it looses the majority of the original nickel. The grips remain excellent. Some of the nitre blue can still be seen on the trigger and the back of the hammer. Mechanically works well. Now the story; this Colt has a holster that fits it perfect, with a old Special Deputy Sheriff Alameda Co. the back of the badge is marked Ed Jones & Co Oakland Cal. They are still in business today, they have been in business since a little prior to 1898. This is an antique badge likely around the turn of the century to the early 1900’s. Certainly adds to the intrigue of the history as one doesn’t often find California guns. Shipping is $20 plus actual insurance. Asking: $2,450.00 Sale Pending SOLD Antique: Yes |
