Antique COLT NEW ARMY Model 1894 Revolver in .38
Description: Antique COLT NEW ARMY Model 1894 Revolver in .38 Spanish-American War Revolver Here we present an antique Colt Model 1894 New Army Revolver in .38 Colt. The New Model line of revolvers represented the U.S. military’s first double action revolver with swing out cylinders. These revolvers would be veterans of the Spanish-American War and Philippine-American War. This one features government inspectors’ marks throughout, including “R.A.C.” for Rinaldo A. Carr on the barrel and cylinder, as well as “K.S.M.” for Kelley S. Morse on the grips. These revolvers were upgraded and kept running by the U.S. armories and were used as late as World War I. The left grip panel appears dated “1901” with “KSM” underneath. The lanyard was installed by the armory as an upgrade. The overall condition is fine. The original blue finish is about 75% with clear markings. The serial numbers on the bottom of the grip frame, cylinder release, crane, and crane recess match. Those on the barrel and cylinder do not. The walnut grips are in good condition with each having a neatly done graft on the rear. The bore is sharp and bright. The action is excellent.
