Serial number 22053 places production during the Civil War period. Introduced in 1861, the Colt Model 1862 Pocket Navy was one of the most popular compact revolvers produced by Colt during the mid19th century. Chambered in .36 caliber with a five shot cylinder, these revolvers offered a practical balance of portability and effectiveness and were widely carried by civilians, travelers, and military officers during the Civil War era.
This revolver features the classic Colt open top frame with 5½ inch octagonal barrel and retains its original percussion configuration with loading lever beneath the barrel. The barrel retains the correct Colt address marking:
