Rare Colt 1878 – London Agency Pall Mall Address - .476 Eley Caliber
Description: This is a rare Colt Model 1878 DA Revolver with London Agency, Pall Mall address in the rare .476 Eley caliber. It is in very nice condition and all markings seem appropriate for the model, including the grips being correctly marked to match the serial of the gun. The blue finish on the front and back of the grip on the frame bottom has mostly lost all original bluing, and the bluing on the cylinder is mostly faded to grey and holds only minor amounts of blue. The balance of the revolver has a significant amount of high gloss original bluing remaining, the sides of the hammer are still fairly shiny, and the trigger still has most of its flame bluing. This firearm was made around 1889, hence it will soon be 130 years old. With the small number of 1878’s made, and the even smaller number of 1878’s made for the Pall Mall London Address in this rare caliber, this will make a fine Colt collector. I have tried to capture the markings and other general areas in the pictures for your evaluation. If you need more pictures, etc., please email me. This firearm is an antique, and can be shipped directly to the buyer, provided your state does not have laws restricting direct non-dealer shipment. Packaging, shipping and insurance for this purchase will cost $40. Total payment for the firearm plus the amount for packaging, shipping and insurance must be paid in full, using a United States Postal Services, USPS, money order or a Cashier’s check. The money order can be obtained at your local Post Office. Email confirmation regarding the above is expected from the buyer within 72 hours following purchase. Payment is expected within 5 business days of purchase. The item will be shipped to you within 1 business day following receipt of a the USPS money order or 3 days for a Cashier’s check. If you send a different pay instrument ... it may take longer to clear and shipping will be delayed accordingly. SOLD Antique: Yes |
