The Colt Sheriff's Model is one of the most desirable modern SAA variants. It features a compact 3-inch barrel and omits the ejector rod housing, closely replicating the rare 19th-century "ejectorless" revolvers that collectors later dubbed Sheriff's or Storekeeper's Models. While the originals were never officially marketed under that name, modern Colt production adopted the designation. The revolver must be unloaded one case at a time using a dowel or similar tool because there is no ejector rod.
The serial number SA41032 indicates this is a Third Generation Colt Single Action Army Sheriff's Model, manufactured in the late 1990s (approximately 1998–1999). The "SA" prefix is used on modern Third Generation Single Action Army revolvers.
