Make Offer RARE Factory Engraved 1958 Colt Detective Special w/ box and paperwork

Description:
This is an extrememly rare Colt detective special .38 special revolver. Per Colt archives, this was shipped to A.B. Shorb in Milan, MI in October 1958. It is confirmed to have been factory engraved with deluxe engraving. It has a 2" barrel with blue finish. Serial number 664515. Inlcudes box however it is not in great condition.

In the Book of Colt Firearms by R.Q. Sutherland and R.L. Wilson, they state that from 1941-1971 only an estimated 50 Colt Detective Specials received factory engraving. This exact model gun that was shipped in 1959 (1 year newer) with exact same engraving sold by Rock Island in Decemeber 2025 sold for $41,125 per thier .
