WAS $3650- REDUCED TO $3500!!!! I am slowly selling my private collection so here is another of my "babies" offered from my collection. This beautiful 1964/1966 (COLT SER # LOOKUP) Colt Detective Special was master engraved by hand as documented with a letter from the master engraver, Rudy Marek, found in the old original tattered Colt box. Rudy worked engraving for Colt for a while around this time and also did private engraving outside of Colt. I was told if he signed the piece it meant it was done as a private contract outside of working at Colt. This one is signed by Mr. Marek. This Colt is beautifully master engraved and finished in Satin Nickel, wearing a gorgeous pair of Stag grips with Colt medallions. No two engravings are alike and the hand tooling on this one is incredible. The fact it is lettered by the late Master Engraver Rudy Marek makes this very rare and collectible.
THIS ONE SOLD but I have more engraved guns as well as more "not engraved" Colts, S&Ws, Berettas, Milford CT Seecamps, Brownings, HKP7s and more so let me know what you're looking for and I may just have one! I have two more engraved Colt Detectives in custom solid wood cases made for each. One is nickel with real Mother of Pearl grips and the other is Blued with Sambar Stag grips. Also have the Colt 1903 and 1908 ENGRAVED pieces. Prices about the same as this one. Serious buyers only please.
