22 Mag Colt Diamond Back with 6” barrel
Description: This is a nice Colt and here is what I know…the serial number on the frame and Cylinder yoke match. It has original colt Pachmayer grips and it is in very good shape. It is marked 22lr on the barrel, but we do NOT have the 22LR cylinder…we have only the 22 Mag cylinder. I am not a Colt collector or historian, but I think this gun was possibly custom fitted with two cylinders and that we only have one of them. ( you remember how the Peace Makers came in 22lr and 22 Mag?) The reason I believe this is because there is only one marred screw on the gun, and that is the one that locks the Cylinder yoke into the frame. This suggests to me that it was turned to swap cylinders out. ( If the cylinder work wasn’t done by Colt, then whomever did it -- did a very nice job.) The photos tell the story of the guns condition quite well. The rib has a rub mark, as shown by the photos. It is not dented or damaged other than the cosmetic rub mark. The photos show a lot of glare on the gun -- as its highly polished. The blue on it is quite good and even. That is glare by the muzzle, though there is a very slight bit of thinning to the blue on the each side of the leading edge of the barrel. Additionally, at the 7 O'c;lock position of the cylinder face...thats oils residue, which I went to check after seeing it in the photos, and I was able to wipe it off. The Cylinder face is clean. I don’t have the history on this gun, and I cant tell you if it’s been re-blued or not, or even who touched it in the period between leaving the factory and today. If you buy this gun and it’s damaged or not as described you can send it back for a full refund. But if you are a “looky-loo” and just want to fondle it, it will cost you a 15% re-stocking fee when you send it back for whatever obscure reason you come up with. (Some of the “serious Collectors” out there have forced us to this point.) If you have any questions or know the history on this gun, please share. Credit cards add 3%, we offer a 3 day non-firing inspection period. Must ship to an FFL and shipping is $40. Thanks for looking. Strength and Honor! $2000 SOLD |
