This revolver was put together by Stokes Kirk Co of Philadelphia after the Civil war from surplus parts. (same type of post war operation as Francis Bannerman in New York.) This gun is serial #6 and so marked on the frame, backstrap, trigger guard and cylinder and barrel. Frame and loading lever have 98-99% of their case colors. Cylinder has original blue. The barrels were not available to Stokes Kirk and were made after the war. This is a U.S. Navy 1851 Colt with excellent colors and blue except barrel as noted above.
