"Scarce Martial Colt 1861 Navy (65725)

Description:
"Serial number 7768. Made in 1862. 36 caliber with a 7.5" barrel. This is a scarce example of a martial Colt 1861 Navy. These guns did not have any US markings outside of the small inspectors marks found throughout. This one has a cartouche on the left side grip and not all martial examples did.  This gun has a dark brownish gray patina. Most of the cylinder scene remains intact. This gun is inscribed on both the butt and the back strap with two different sets of initials meaning there was probably a change in ownership during its service. Very Fine gun! Serial number 7768.
