"US Navy Issued Colt 1851 Navy Revolver (65735)
Description:
"Serial number 61081. Made in 1856. 36 caliber with a 7.5" barrel. This is a rare US Martial Colt 1851 Navy that is also US Navy marked. This gun has the “US" marking on the left hand side of the frame under neath th3e Colt Patent marking. These guns also has iron trigger guard and back straps. The butt of the gun has “U.S.N." stamping and are sometimes referred to by collectors as “Navy Navies" This gun has an even gray patina to the metal and slight edge wear. The cylinder scene is partially visible. This gun has refinished oil stained grips and a lanyard ring in the butt. Very scarce US martial gun!
