Description:
For your consideration is a Colt New Service revolver chambered in .45 Colt, built on an 1899-dated frame (four digit serial number) and later fitted with an 8-inch commercial 1917-pattern barrel. This revolver has been refinished at some point in its life and presents as a clean, solid shooter with classic Colt big-frame handling.
Condition:
Mechanically, the revolver is in very good condition. Timing is correct, lockup is solid, and the action cycles smoothly in both single and double action. Bore is bright and clean with strong rifling. Finish is an older refinish that remains even and attractive, with normal handling marks from use.
Barrel & Sights:
The barrel is an 8" commercial replacement, marked “New Service & 1917,” and not the original Target Model barrel. The front sight is non-original, but well-installed and functional. The long barrel gives an excellent sight radius and makes this a very enjoyable shooter.
Grips:
The grips are original Colt hard rubber, and importantly, they match the serial number to the frame. There is a small chip at the bottom of the left grip, not visible from the side, but they remain tight and serviceable. Matching original grips are increasingly hard to find and add authenticity to the revolver.
Overall:
This is not a collector-grade, all-original Target Model — it is a refinished, rebarreled, shooter-grade New Service with great mechanical integrity and classic Colt character. Perfect for someone who wants a big-frame .45 Colt revolver to enjoy at the range without paying premium collector prices.

Returns are only accepted for items that arrive at the transfer agent in a condition other than advertised in the listing. Returns must be left with the transfer agent.
Firearms returned for other than damage or misrepresentation will have all shipping/ fees and a restocking fee of 15% subtracted from the refund. Any damage incurred in transit is the responsibility of the shipping agent (USPS, UPS, etc.). I will assist with any claim, but any damages will be paid by the shipping agent.
