Description: 1920 COLT POLICE POSITIVE .38 S&W REVOLVER & HOLSTER RIG C&R Gangster Roaring Twenties Sidearm for Cops & Gangsters! Here we present a Colt Police Positive in .38 Colt New Police (.38 S&W), made in 1920 by the Colt Manufacturing Company in Hartford, Connecticut. The Colt Police Positive is a small-frame, double-action revolver featuring a six-round cylinder, chambered for either .32 or .38 caliber. It was also later offered in .22 caliber cartridges. Designed primarily for sale to federal, state, or local law enforcement agencies, the Police Positive was introduced into the overall firearms market by Colt's Manufacturing Company in 1907. The Colt Police Positive was an improvement of Colt's earlier “New Police” revolver, upgraded with an internal hammer block safety. Notable crime boss Al Capone was known to have carried one of these revolvers, ironically. The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. Original blue remains on the frame around the cylinder, trigger guard, front sight, and grips. There is a small chip out of the rear of the right grip panel. The black leather holster is in very good shape. A great piece from the Roaring 20s! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 5 inches.
