Scarce Antique Colt New Police Revolver
Description:
Serial #5935, .32 Colt, 4" barrel with a bright, excellent bore. The metal surfaces retain 90-92% of the original bright blue that has started to develop a mild plum-brown patina mostly on the barrel and on the cylinder which also light freckling in spots. Bright original fire blue is still present on the trigger and hammer as well. The checkered black hard rubber Colt logo grips rate excellent with a few very light handling marks, some mild flattening of the points, and are scratch numbered to the revolver on both panels. The revolver is mechanically excellent. Several currently cited references list this serial number as dating to 1900, however our correspondence with the Colt Historical Department indicates that serial #5935 shipped from the factory in 1897, making the gun an antique. As such, it is an excellent example and would make a fabulous addition to any collection. Antique
