Featuring a Colt Python .357 Magnum CTG Nickel Finish 6" barrell. Also includes Thompson Center Arms RP 3x20 scope with Burris Mount & Hardware and 2 reloaders.
From Gun Digest: Python was often described as the Cadillac of Colt double-action revolver line. Originally designed to be a large-frame .38 Special target revolver, but shortly before Python was introduced in 1955, Colt management decided to chamber it for .357 Magnum. (A .38 Special 8" barrel variation was made in early 1980s. See separate listing.) Python was offered in barrel lengths of 2.5", 3" (very rare), 4", 6" and 8". Features included a ventilated rib, full lug barrel and adjustable rear sight. Finish choices were Royal Blue, nickel plated, matte stainless and high polished "Ultimate" stainless. Python remained in the catalog as a regular production item until 1996. The following year Colt Custom Shop started making Python on a special-order-only basis. Known as Python Elite, it was produced by the Custom Shop until 2006. In recent years, values of Colt "snake guns" have increased significantly. Combinations of rare features, high condition, and special history bring premium prices. In 2017 and 2018, Rock Island Company sold four Pythons in the $20,000 to $26,000 range. An engraved specimen featured on the cover of Standard Catalog of Firearms sold for nearly $55,000, and Elvis Presley's engraved Python brought $175,500. A new version was introduced by Colt in 2020.
The latest Blue Book of Gun Values (42nd Edition) Copyright 2021 indicates that this gun is valued between $3,350 (100%) and $2,750 (90%) for the nickel finish 6" barrell. The asking price for this gun is $2,200 See picture of Python values from 42nd edition.

From Gun Digest: Python was often described as the Cadillac of Colt double-action revolver line. Originally designed to be a large-frame .38 Special target revolver, but shortly before Python was introduced in 1955, Colt management decided to chamber it for .357 Magnum. (A .38 Special 8" barrel variation was made in early 1980s. See separate listing.) Python was offered in barrel lengths of 2.5", 3" (very rare), 4", 6" and 8". Features included a ventilated rib, full lug barrel and adjustable rear sight. Finish choices were Royal Blue, nickel plated, matte stainless and high polished "Ultimate" stainless. Python remained in the catalog as a regular production item until 1996. The following year Colt Custom Shop started making Python on a special-order-only basis. Known as Python Elite, it was produced by the Custom Shop until 2006. In recent years, values of Colt "snake guns" have increased significantly. Combinations of rare features, high condition, and special history bring premium prices. In 2017 and 2018, Rock Island Company sold four Pythons in the $20,000 to $26,000 range. An engraved specimen featured on the cover of Standard Catalog of Firearms sold for nearly $55,000, and Elvis Presley's engraved Python brought $175,500. A new version was introduced by Colt in 2020.
The latest Blue Book of Gun Values (42nd Edition) Copyright 2021 indicates that this gun is valued between $3,350 (100%) and $2,750 (90%) for the nickel finish 6" barrell. The asking price for this gun is $2,200 See picture of Python values from 42nd edition.
