Description: For sale, a unique 1970's- early 80's vintage Colt Python that has been set up for serious competition/match shooting by Bill Davis. Bill Davis is a famous PPC pistol smith who built the very best PPC double action revolvers capable of extreme accuracy. This Python has been tuned into a double action only competition revolver with no time or expense spared. The action is light and butter smooth. The double action is so light it almost feels like it doesn't have enough power to dent a primer, but it does with authority with every pull. A tab has been soldered on the back of the trigger to eliminate over travel for rapid fire shooting with no wasted motion. The hammer has been bobbed which lightened it considerably. The barrel was replaced with a heavy stainless match grade barrel with a recessed and stepped crown used on almost all the revolvers Bill Davis built for competition. An "Aristocrat" full length adjustable target sight has been added. These were the top choice of some of the best PPC shooters in the world. It is quick adjustable for 7, 25, and 50 yards with each of those settings independantly adjustable for fine tuning the zero. Pachmayr "Gripper" rubber grips have been added. This is a truly special Colt Python that has been turned into a tack driver, with an action so smooth you have to feel it to truly understand how good it is. This would be a great addition to any competitive shooter's collection, or a unique addition to a Python collection that displays what the Colt Python was capable of becoming when customized by a master gunsmith before they were collector's pieces.
