"Custer Range Colt Single Action Army Cavalry Model Kopec Letter (AC326)
Description: "Serial Number 5180. Made in 1874. 45 LC caliber with a 2 3/8" barrel. This is a Cavalry model inspected by O. W. Ainsworth. The metal has a dark gray to brown patina and has pitting. The barrel has been shortened from the original cavalry length. This is an absolutely exceptional gun as it was in lot 5 which was the prime lot of US cavalry models that were issued to the 7th cavalry and used at the battle of the little big horn. This gun is believed to have come out of the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation. The 5100 serial range has numerous guns with documentation that very likely were veterans of the Little Big Horn Battle. This gun comes with a letter from noted Colt expert John Kopec and received his Golden Seal status only given to the best and most authentic Colt Cavalry models he reviews. Very historic Colt Single Action Army Custer range gun! SOLD Antique: Yes |
