Description:
ANTIQUE COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER – FACTORY LETTERED TO HARTLEY & GRAHAM – 7 1/2 BARREL .45 COLT – 1884 PRODUCTION – WITH DOUBLE LOOP HOLSTER
Authentic frontier-era Antique Colt Single Action Army revolver chambered in .45 Colt with accompanying Colt factory letter confirming shipment to legendary New York distributor Hartley & Graham on May 20, 1884. A true Old West survivor with honest age, untouched character, and strong collector appeal.
Factory letter confirms shipment as a .45 caliber revolver with blue finish to Hartley & Graham, New York City, as part of a four-gun shipment. Barrel length and stocks were not listed in the surviving records, though the revolver currently features a 7 1/2” barrel and hard rubber grips. Matching serial numbers are present on the frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Loading gate numbered “8053.”
This revolver displays exactly the type of authentic gray/brown frontier patina advanced collectors appreciate, showing decades of honest use and carry. Metal surfaces exhibit moderate wear and scattered pitting throughout with no attempt at restoration or refinishing. Mechanically functional. Bore is dark with visible rifling and expected oxidation/pitting consistent with age and black powder era use.
Included with the revolver is a period-style leather double loop holster which complements the gun well for display.
This is not a polished or restored example — it is a genuine frontier survivor with documented Hartley & Graham provenance, one of the most important Colt distributors of the Old West period.
