Description:
The accompanying factory letter states this revolver was shipped on August 26, 1909, to Montgomery Ward & Company in Chicago, Illinois, in .38-40 caliber, with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and type of grips not listed, with 2 guns of the same type in the shipment. The barrel has "38 W.C.F." on the left. Matching visible full serial numbers on the frame, trigger guard, and butt, with matching "0772" hand etched on the interiors of the grips, unnumbered cylinder, and assembly number "609" on the loading gate. Fine, retains 40% original blue finish, 50% original case colors, with smooth gray patina on the balance, light freckling, and distinct markings and edges in the metal overall. The grips are also fine, with well-defined edges, a few very small chips along the inner edges, minor handling marks, and crisp checkering and logos. Mechanically excellent.
