Colt Single Action
45LC 4 3/4" Bl. Blue/case, Mfg. 1884 w/ Colt letter
Description: Nice all original black powder Colt Single Action in the most desirable cal. and barrel length (45cal. 4 3/4" bl). All matching serial numbers (#112877) Mfg. 1884. The assembly numbers also match (frame & loading gate). Mostly brown/gray finish with some old original blue; cyl flutes, under ejector housing and trigger guard. Faint case color on much of the frame. Some scrtaches but for the most part the metal is smooth (see photos). Sharp edges, all markings are clear and legible. Bore is very good, no pitting and strong rifling. Action is very nice; extraordinarlly tight in battery. Barrel cyl gap is perfect. The grips are orginial Colt Eagle hard rubber, standard for 1884. Optional from 1882. The grips are worn but no cracks or large chips. The Eagle grips are rare and treasured by many collectors. The hammer is original to the gun and correct for the period. A copy of the origianl Colt Historical Dept letter is included. The letter confirms the configuration of the gun. It was shipped to St. Louis in 1885. This is the period of the mass migration to the West of homesteaders, gold seekers, and ranchers. The favorite Colt of this time was the 45, 4 3/4" barrel. Now this Colt is extremely difficult to find in the original condition and and are sought after by Colt Collector, investors, and history buffs. This Colt (#112877) is one of those that is in orginal condition. For sure, over the years a screw or spring may have been replaced. 3 day inspection. Buyer pays all shipping. NO PAPER WORK NEEDED. Pre 1897. Black powder. SOLD Antique: Yes |
