This first-generation Colt Single Action Army was manufactured in 1896, making it an antique. This early \"Smokeless Powder\" framed revolver features a 4-3/4\" barrel and is chambered in .41 Colt. The barrel, grip frame and some of the parts appear to be nickel plated. The receiver frame does also have nickel plating in low wear areas but most of the exposed original finish on the frame and cylinder is gone. The history of this revolver is unknown, so unfortunately it is not clear if it originally came nickel or not. The loading gate, grips and some of the grip frame screws are not original to the gun. However, the grip frame itself is original to the gun as the serial number indicates. The grips appear to be original Colt SAA grips, likely from a later generation. While the finish shows a lot of wear, the gun does appear to function properly from a mechanical standpoint (including cylinder timing). The bore and rifling are existent but do show a fair amount of roughness/pitting. This information came from physical inspection, general knowledge of Colts and research and may not be 100% accurate due to the age of the firearm.
