COLT U.S. CAV. #31,XXX L.D. (Lewis Draper)
Description: Up for sale is an item from my personal collection. A historical Colt U.S. Cavalry SAA revolver, .45 caliber, 7.5” barrel, dark patina to metal surfaces with scattered pinprick pitting, wood grips displaying partially visible inspector cartouches and the date “1876” on the left side of grips; S/N 31757. Revolver is in overall good condition with a good bore, crisp action, good markings and good grips; accompanied by a Colt factory letter indicating delivery to the U.S. Government Inspector at the Colt plant on December 8, 1876, 200 guns in shipment. Also included with this lot is an early Kopec letter dated Oct. 16, 1986. Read Kopec letter!!! NOTE: I just finished looking at the front sight on this US gununder a magnifier. There is no outward indication that the sight has been replaced. I also just put it up against an early ('78) etched panel, and it has at the least had a file on it. As a result, and wanting to be up front and transparent, I am marking this down to $5,150 shipped and insured, shipped via priority mail. Still comes with both the Colt Archive and John Kopec letters. Shipped and Insured in continental US. Make sure it is legal to receive this item in your state of residence!!! USPS MO, BANK or PERS CHECK, item will be shipped with check clears. Non-firing 3 day inspection. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: Colt Model: U.S. Cavalry Caliber Info: .45 Condition: good Metal Condition: good Wood Condition: good Bore Condition: good Stock: Wood Finish: Blue & CH Manufacture Date: 1876 |
