DENVER SHIPPED Antique .45 COLT SAA Revolver
Description: DENVER SHIPPED Antique .45 COLT SAA Revolver Shipped in 1881 Per the FACTORY LETTER Here we present an antique Black Powder Frame Colt Single Action Army Revolver, shipped to J.P. Lower of Denver, Colorado on October 12, 1881 per the accompanying factory letter. John Pray or “J.P.” Lower was a famous Western Frontier gunsmith and purveyor of sporting goods, namely firearms, who founded a store called Sportsman’s Depot in Denver before Colorado was even a state. Among his clientele were some of the larger than life names that we remember today like Buffalo Bill, George Custer, and Kit Carson. How many lawmen, soldiers, hunters, trappers, settlers, and traders he did business with would certainly make for excellent reading. See the photo section for a picture of his Denver storefront. This six-shooter is chambered in .45 Colt and features a 7-1/2 inch barrel. The top of the barrel is marked “COLT’S PT. F. A. MFG. CO. HARTFORD CT. U.S.A.” The trigger guard is marked “45 CAL”. The left side of the frame is marked “PAT. SEPT. 19. 1871/JULY. 2.—72./JAN. 19.—75.” The overall condition is very good. The steel surfaces bear a light gray patina. The markings are clear. The serial numbers match. The walnut grip is a bit shy but solid. The bore is very good, sharp and clean. The front sight has been replaced. The action is excellent. Here is a Colt SAA that went to Denver in 1881! Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/2 inches. Caliber: .45 Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $6995 #6511 SOLD Antique: Yes |
