HIGH CONDITION SINGLE ACTION ARMY, .32-20 WITH SCARCE 7 1/2" BARREL, #328XXX, MADE 1913, WITH FACTORY LETTER.
Description: HIGH CONDITION SINGLE ACTION ARMY, .32-20 WITH SCARCE 7 1/2" BARREL, #328XXX, MADE 1913, WITH FACTORY LETTER. According to the Colt factory letter, this serial number was used twice- both Colts were shipped to Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company in Chicago, IL. Both were .32-20 caliber with one having a 4 3/4" barrel and one with 7 1/2" barrel. Obviously, this is the latter and shows a shipping date of December 29, 1913. This one shows the beautiful deep and high polish Colt blue of the era with most of the blue remaining on the barrel with only a few small scuffs on each side. The cylinder also shows about all the blue with only some minor thinning and the usual cylinder drag line. the grip straps and bottom of the trigger guard show some blue thinning surrounded by deep blue on the butt, trigger guard sides etc. The ejector housing retains bright blue with a the most minor of wear at the high edge front. Excellent blued screws and cylinder pin. the frame shows mostly a cloudy, mottled gray with some light case color in the most protected areas along with some light case color on the hammer. All markings are sharp and clear, grips fit fine and are excellent, the front sight has not been altered, very tight action and lock up with minty bright bore. Matching numbers (non number inside the grips), very few Single Actions during this period were made with 7 1/2" barrels. Great appearance. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes Manufacturer: COLT Model: SAA FIRST GENERATION Serial Number: 328XXX Barrel Length: 7 1/2 Condition: FINE+ Bore Condition: EXCELLENT |
