SUPER RARE Post-war Pre-war 1 of 2 38 Speical 4 3/4 made with factory numbered peral grips.

PRICE DROPPED FROM 8995.00 TO 7995.00. PRICING TO SALE. This is a rare one. THE LAST DOUBLE LINE ADDRESS 38 SPEICAL MADE AND THE ONLY POST-WAR PRE-WAR IN 38 SPEICAL WITH DOUBLE LINE ADDRESS, 1 of 2 38 special 4 3/4 . One of the last assembled, dated in Feb 1961 per Don Wilkerson's book.
Don found this gun on the assembly department manager personal inventory list. In his book, he stated it has no record of it leaving the factory. Don added the gun as the 2nd 38 Speical, 4 3/4 and recorded in the foot notes. The Colt letter stated the frame was pulled as a replacement frame and stated it had no record of it leaving the factory.
The pistol was assembled with a 1st gen frame, 1st gen double short address barrel and 1st gen cylinder all with matching numbers. Everything else is 2nd gen parts stamped correct  and date it tobe assembled after 1958. It has pearl factory grips numbered with black wax pencil. Comes with factory black box not labeled and repaired on the corners, with no serial number on the box and factory letter. Gun bought as an unfired gun.
NOTE. The barrel, ejector housing and cylinder has been refinished due to chemical damage to finish.
