VERY FINE SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38-40, 5 1/2”, #294XXX, MADE 1907
Description: VERY FINE SINGLE ACTION ARMY .38-40, 5 ½”, #294XXX, MADE 1907. This is a nice fairly early smokeless era SAA with very tight action, four clicks to the hammer and exc. bright bore. The barrel shows most of the blue with only some minor gray on the forward left side from holster wear. The outside of the ejector housing blue is thinning/mixing gray-brown with exc. deep blue on the upper and lower portions along the barrel. Cylinder shows good deep blue with some normal edge wear. Front strap and back strap are mainly gray/brown with good blue on the butt and bottom of the trigger guard area. Exc. screws still show fine blue. The frame is mostly mottled with some light case colors on the right side and in the most protected areas. Front sight has not been altered. Aside from three tiny chips on the lower back corner of each panel and one on the right that barely show from the sides, the grips are exc, and numbered to match. Matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. A really fine appearance overall especially for a 119-year old SAA.
