Colt SAA bespoke consecutive pair
Description:
SOLD
Colt SAA consecutive pair, a very unusual, special ordered pair!
These beautiful revolvers are 3rd generation SAA’s with different barrel lengths: 4 ¾” & 5 ½”, black powder frames with bullseye ejector rods, blue/case color frame; fire blue screws; standard grip frames with one piece ivory grips; two tone hammer (fire blue on top/back & polished on sides); chambered in .44-40; and they are absolutely new in their respective boxes.
These are a one owner pair from a private, Midwest collection.
Approximate cost then (each): SAA $1600 + special barrel length $200, + consecutive serial numbers $300, + one piece ivory stocks $700, + two tone hammer $150 = around $2,900.00 X 2 + $5,800 per pair. And that was over 25 years ago. What that equates to in today’s money, I’m not certain but my guess is somewhere well north of $9k! More importantly I doubt if such a pair would be available to order!
