Antique COLT Model 1877 “THUNDERER” .41 Long Colt Double Action REVOLVER
Hartford, Connecticut Made Double Action Revolver Made in 1886
Description: Antique COLT Model 1877 “THUNDERER” .41 Long Colt Double Action REVOLVER Hartford, Connecticut Made Double Action Revolver Made in 1886 Here we present an Antique Colt M1877 “Thunderer” Revolver manufactured circa 1886 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Model 1877 was offered in three different calibers, which led to the three unofficial names. The “Lightning” which was chambered in .38 Colt. The “Thunderer” which was chambered in .41 Colt. And, the “Rainmaker” which was chambered in .32 Colt. Neither "Lightning" nor "Thunderer" were Colt designations, and were not used by the factory in any reference materials. Both terms were coined by Benjamin Kittredge, one of Colt's major distributors. Kittredge was responsible for the term "Peacemaker" for the Colt Single Action Army. The 1877 "Thunderer" in .41 caliber was the preferred weapon of Billy the Kid and was his weapon of choice when he was killed by Pat Garrett in 1881. The overall condition is good. The action functions, but the cylinder intermittently indexes. Legible markings. Both grips are in good shape, seated firmly, and contain only average handling wear. The bore is semi-bright with visible rifling. Numbers match. This example includes a neat older leather holster. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 6 inches. Caliber: .41 Colt Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $1775 #217507 SOLD Antique: Yes |
