1956 Colt Trooper Complete with Original Box/Test Target
Description:
4" First Generation Colt Trooper chambered in the VERY desirable and seldom seen .22LR. The serial number dates production to 1956. This is the last of my 100% complete, first generation Trooper packages that includes the original serial number matching box and test target, warranty card, sight adjustment tool, cleaning brush (still in the paper sleeve), and ”Handling the Handgun" brochure from Colt. Even the original sales reciept is included, showing a sale price of $74.60 dated 3/3/67 ("Boyles Small Arms Pistols and Revolvers, Akron, Ohio). It appears that the gun sat on the shelf for over 10 years until sold. The original blue finish and over all condition is nothing short of remarkable and rates 99%+. The action is crisp, lock up is tight, bore is clean and the grips are like new. There is a very slight, barely visible turn line on the cylinder. The condition of the cylinder face, recoil shield and forcing cone appear to indicate the gun is indeed unfired since leaving the Colt factory. The term "New In Box" is usually not used to describe a 61 year old gun, but this might be the best way to sum up the amazing condition of this exceptional Colt revolver. It's estimated that only 10% of early Trooper production was .22LR (the rest being .38 Special or .357 Magnum). You could search for years and not find a finer, more original, complete example at any price...
Price is $2595 plus $25 shipping via USPS Priority Mail. Will ship FFL to FFL (C&R eligible). If the gun does not meet your expectations, feel free to return it for a full refund minus shipping in both directions. Although relatively new to GunsInternational, I have MANY years experience/references on other sites and forums. Please buy with confidence as these guns are from my personal collection and if you aren't satisfied with your purchase, I'll make it right. Please call Russ at (520)730-6812 with any questions...
