Description:
"Serial number 18484. Made in 1859. 44 caliber with a 7.5" barrel. This gun has a gray patina. Throughout. All numbers are matching including the wedge. This gun is inscribed on both sides of the grips with what appears to be initials. This is a scarce Cut for stock model where there is an extra protruding screw on each side of the frame and the recoil shields are notched at the bottom where the stock attached. The rear sight on the barrel was added during the period of use. There are varying reports of how many Dragoons were actually cut for stock, but the consensus seems to be between 800 and 1500.
