Colt Root Presentation Revolver. Inscribed on backstrap “AA Pattou from C.H. Colt Christmas 1870". This is a 7th Model with the screw in the cylinder. Cylinder scene is perfect, grips are excellent with 98-99% original varnish. Nipples are perfect and the revolver appears unfired. Case is excellent with accessories. Ange Albert Pattou was from Belgium and taught French language in Hartford Ct. Caldwell Hart Colt was known to have given firearms to friends and business associates. This is a cased 7th Model Root with eagle and stars powder flask, Colts Pt. Eley cap tin with good label. Caldwell Hart Colt was the son of Samuel Colt. He was known as an excellent yacht man. Rare opportunity to find a Colt Presentation Set. They seldom come available!
