c1866 mfr. Antique COLT Model 1851 NAVY Revolver .36 Hartford, CT Manufactured for the London, England Market
Description: c1866 mfr. Antique COLT Model 1851 NAVY Revolver .36 Hartford, CT Manufactured for the London, England Market Here we present an antique Colt 1851 Navy Revolver, made in 1866 in Hartford, Connecticut. The 1851 Navy was one of Colt’s most famous and successful lines, reaching a production total of 257,348 from 1850 to 1873 (right up to the time of SAA production) from both Hartford and London factories. From Hartford alone, 185,000 were made by the end of the American Civil War. Many of these saw service during the conflict on both sides. This one was made in post-Civil War America for the London market as evidenced by the “L” serial number suffix. Samuel Colt briefly had a manufactory in London from 1853-1856 but it closed in favor of manufacturing in the US and exporting as necessary. This piece still had the Battle of Campeche cylinder scene, a battle from the Mexican-American war that was roll-marked on the Models 1851, 1860, and 1861. This one also has the steel grip frame, which was characteristic of the London Colts. The overall condition is very good. Gray patina throughout. The Battle of Campeche cylinder scene is in good condition. The action is excellent. The bore is in fine condition, shiny bright with sharp rifling. The grip is solid. Numbers match throughout. Own the original! This is a legitimate antique and not a reproduction. Barrel is 7-1/2 inches. Caliber: .36 Percussion Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING WORLDWIDE. Delivered directly to your door by express mail! Guaranteed AUTHENTIC & Includes CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY. ancestryguns $2800 #244374 SOLD Antique: Yes |
