Description:
5 shot percussion revolver with correct 3 inch octagon barrel chambered in 31 caliber. Made without a ram rod. Metal surfaces are mostly a plum/brown patina with traces of case color on the frame. Cylinder retains nearly all of the stagecoach hold-up scene. Good traces of original silver on the small round trigger guard. Brass is an aged patina. Walnut grips have a fair amount of original varnish with a little bit of honest wear to them. They fit welll and are proud to the metal. This is an interesting gun. It appears to have been together forever but there are several different numbers on it. Barrel and frame number are the same. Backstrap is another number and the cylinder yet another. This gun had to have been mis-matched 100 years ago because it looks to be all the same piece. Good sharp little gun.
