1860 ARMY CARVED IVORY CUSTOM BARREL
Description:
This is a very neat piece. You will like it a lot. As you will notice, it has been altered. The barrel has been cut to 5 1/8". A front sight has been dove-tailed with a blade added. Original blue finish remains on the barrel and cylinder. Original case color remains as well. You will also find silver on the trigger guard. y strong and tight. The cylinder locks up tight in full cock. Half cock works perfectly. Arbor, wedge, barrel, trigger guard, backstrap, and cylinder numbers match. You can tell where the numbers have been re-applied on the cylinder, frame, and trigger guard. Looks factory to me, but I don't know. Have had others numbered like this one before. A lot of the cylinder scene is visible. What I like best, the grips. They obviously are not original, but are really nice. I like the carved ivories with the eagle and snake. These grips are also checkered. I normally don't like custom guns. This one is an exception. It just says been there done that. It has the look. This Colt 1860 Army with carved ivory grips will make a great addition to any collection. American Arms & Antiques inventory #2425 Please contact me for more pictures.
