Colt 1st Model Root .28 Caliber Revolver. Serial number 268. Matching serial numbers. Revolver has approximately 90% original factory blue. The 1st Model has an octagonal loading lever. Subsequent models have round loading levers. Cylinder scene is perfect. Bore is excellent. Action works perfectly. The grips have minor handling marks. Has approximately 98% original varnish. No chips, no cracks. This revolver has its original correct case with correct excellent .28 caliber Colt’s patent mold, correct small size Eagle flask and excellent can of caps manufactured by F. Joyce & Company London, and screwdriver. This is a very fine cased 1st Model Root and the case, like the revolver is excellent. Rare cased 1st Model! We have owned only three 1st Models in 50 years.
