Colt Baby Dragoon, Type V, 4" Barrel with Loading Rod, Made 1850, Great Condition!
Description: Consignment item, one of many from a large collection of 1850s and 1860s percussion firearms. Please see my other listings for more items. Colt Baby Dragoon, type V, with 4" octagon barrel and loading lever, square back trigger guard, brass trigger guard and back strap, blued and case hardened finish, walnut grips, 5-shot cylinder with , .31 caliber percussion revolver, made in 1850 during the transition from the Baby to the 1849 Pocket Model. CONDITION: Frame has 35% case colors on right side and traces on the left side, with some very light staining. Upper barrel flats and breech area have turned a light patina with some very light staining. Lower barrel flats have 60% bright original blue. Loading rod has traces of case colors. Cylinder has all the original nipples and retains nearly all of the sharp Stagecoach scene, with the patent and serial markings extremely sharp as well. Action is tight and strong, indexing correctly every time. Trigger guard and back strap retain traces of the original silver plate, otherwise exhibit normal brass coloring. Original grips are beautiful, retaining nearly all the original varnish and only very minor wear, still tight and even with the surrounding metal, never sanded or refinished. Serial numbers match in part or whole on the grip, trigger guard, frame, barrel, cylinder, cylinder pin, wedge and loading rod. Bore is very good. This old Baby was taken care of very well to have survived 170+ years in this condition, and it will make a great addition to your collection. TERMS: No international sales and no sales to Alaska or Hawaii. Sales to California and New York will only be shipped to an FFL dealer.
