Here is one you don't see every day. It is basically your standard 1849 Colt .31 caliber with a 5" barrel but in rare factory nickel. Even rarer in that it was made during the Summer of Gettysburg in 1863 with most factory nickel model 49's made late in production. First off, action works just fine and lines up perfectly and locks in place each time. Bore is excellent, clean with strong lands/grooves. I would have to rate overall nickel on entire gun less cylinder at 95-97% with some age bubbling. Cylinder has most of the blue with some raw metal patina on end with nipples. Cylinder scene is almost entirely visibloe and most of the screws retains the better part of the fire blue finish. Again, when you look at the picture of serial number, you can plainly see it is original factory nickel and not some later re-nickel, guarenteed 100% or money back no questons. The wonderful grips are perfect and retain most of the original varnish and have absolutely no cracks or chips or repairs. The small fully tooled 1860-70's slim jim holster is in excellent shape and still soft and plyable, no maker but good quality. This is a really rare and hamdsome mid Civil War rig never seen with this much original nickel if you can even find another factory nickel 1849 Model. Antique Civil War era percussion revolver.
