FINE COLT SECOND MODEL 1855 SIDEHAMMER ROOT REVOLVER. Five shot .28 cal. with 3 ½” octagon barrel. Desirable “Pointing Hand” “COLT’S/PATENT/1855/ADDRESS COL. COLT/HARTFORD,CT.U.S.A.” barrel address. Early second year “1856” production. 100% original and matching numbers in the 9,xxx range. 50% plus blue eith nice even grey patina mixed in. Fine marking and excellent “HOLDUP” cylinder scene. Original walnut grips with 70-80% original finish. Working order with excellent bore and chambers. Nice early example.
