The condition of this little known percussion pistol is just awesome. It has a very smooth soft silver brown overall patina. Other than a few scattered pinpricks, there are no signs of rust or pitting anywhere. There is only the usual cylinder drag ring found on all revolvers. The stage coach cylinder scene is sharp and quite visible. The frame side panels are also handsomely engraved. The barrel and the frame numbers match.
The walnut grips have retained about 99% of the original factory lacquer. There are no splits chip or dings. The grip screw is undamaged. The gun cocks ,indexes and functions properly. Very frankly there is no doubt that this is a 160 year old "Cabinet Queen." The barrel is as clean as the rest of the gun. The bore is quite bright with sharp rifling and just a slight touch of scattered frost.
A really handsome Colt 1849 Pocket that would enhance any collection, and also is a good investment. As usual we guarantee the satisfaction of your purchase......SHIPPED......$795.
