Description:
#4956 Colt
S/A, 5-7/8”x44/40, 123XXX range(18884), VG++/Fine bore, about a 7-8 on a scale of 10 with just minor lead build-up and minor wear, no bad spots. It is a certainty that this Hawg Leg sometime in the distant past, has had the barrel whacked from a 7-12”, since it is an incorrect length by about 3/8ths of an inch. Tight mechanics with all the hammer positions intact, although the hammer top portion has been trimmed down to make quick sighting easier for the added slotted rear sight on the frame (see photos). Strong eched panel CFSS logo on the barrel, being about 75% intact with the rear most portion being partially obscured with wrench marks on the barrel that were most likely done by some former knuckle-dragging caveman owner who fancied himself as a qualified gunsmith. Overall, the metal is quite decent otherwise, and the markings are good. VG wood grips showing just average wear. About VG as described. $2475
