Description: #4979 Colt SA 7-1/2”x44WCF (44/40), 77XXX range (1882). Fine bore, about a 8 on a scale of 10 and should clean to about a 9 ..maybe even a 9-/2 ..and it has a tight smooth action with all the clicks on the hammer. The exterior has fine smooth metal with an overall even color and even texture dark brownish patina overall, only having a slight grayish lighter crustiness on the barrel top just behind the front sight. VG markings with the exception of the etched “COLT FRONTIER SIX-SHOOTER” barrel logo which has been worn away many decades ago. Fine standard one-piece wood grips with very minor wear overall, fit well, and have a handsome appearance. WELL above the condition of most Single Actions that are usually found priced in this same age and price range, and a really handsome early cowboy era Colt.
