Description:
#4993 Colt D/A 1878, 4-3/4”x44WCF, 22XXX(1888), VG bore (a 7 on a scale of 10), and VG+ action. The metal is an even plum-brown patina that looks like the plum color is a result of some Cold Blue having been wiped over a brown natural patina and also some good trace amounts of original bright blue that is still evident on the lower portions of the frame. There is some minor pitting along the top strap edge and a light scattered pitting elsewhere, but overall it is a NICE gun. The “CFSS” barrel logo is all but worn way, just faint vestages remain, but at least the correct two-line barrel address is decent enough. The original hard rubber grips are VG+ with just light wear and the often missing lanyard ring is intact. About VG. $1595
