Colt Single Action Army Ainsworth Inspected Custer Range. Made in 1874. Serial number 5901. This gun is 100% authentic. Nice sharp gun with traces of blue in protected areas. This gun has a smooth gray patina, no pitting. The grips have an S carved into the right-hand side of the grips. Gun is all matching. This gun comes with a Kopec letter. Mr. Kopec gave this gun one of his Gold Seal letters since it is 100% authentic. Even though this gun is in the Custer range, from his records, he says this gun was most likely issued to the 2nd Cavalry as all of the guns found in the National archives around this serial number were sent to the 2nd Cavalry. Bore has strong rifling and is very good. Some very light frosting in the grooves to where there is not a mirror shin any longer. Very fine, all original Ainsworth Inspected Colt Cavalry with a Kopec Gold Sealed letter!
