Colt Model 1878 Double Action “Frontier”. This is a London Colt with both Hartford and London barrel addresses. The oak case is the correct English case for this revolver. Caliber is .455 as are the cartridges in the wood block. Case has the Colt Pall Mall label in the lid. The bore is perfect. Barrel length 5 ½”. Trigger guard is marked .455 Cal E. Barrel and cylinder are English proofed. This very fine revolver has approximately 95% bright original blue. The face of the cylinder appears perfect. No burn marks. Grips are perfect. No chips or cracks. All the screws are perfect. Action works, indexes and locks up perfectly. The case is very good plus with light handling marks on the lid. This is a very fine London 1878.
