Frame serial number “948” one of the first lot of 1000 Cavalry Model 1873 revolvers shipped in Nov. 1873 to the 10th United States Cavalry, one of the two black Cav. Regiments then serving in the Southwest. 100% original and complete as an Artillery Model of the 1890’s. Very nice overall with deep patina and excellent markings. Crisp serial stampings and extra sharp barrel address. Has all the original screws in good condition except the forward trigger guard screw which has slot cut damage but is restorable by a good smith. Original grips with all the original patinated finish showing modest wear. Excellent bore and chambers. Perfect and very tight working order. Historic as one of the first lot of Cavalry Models shipped and to 10th Cavalry as well.
