Antique Engraved Colt Open Top Pocket 22 RF Revolver Built 1875

Description:
Serial #59481, .22 RF black powder, 2 3/8 inch barrel with a fine bore with scattered roughness. This is the Colt Open Top Pocket revolver manufactured in 1875 featuring about ¾ coverage with foliate scroll engraving on the barrel, frame and cylinder. In fine overall condition the barrel and cylinder are mostly pewter gray with crisp markings "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co / HARTFORD CT. U.S.A." The brass frame has traces of the original silver plate but is mostly a mellow goldenrod brass with the side plate several shades lighter. The varnished walnut grips rate about excellent with scuffs and wear in the finish layer. The action functions with the hammer holding in half and full cock. The cylinder does not index properly .
