*Sale Pending* - COLT 1848 BABY DRAGOON
Description:
The five-shot Baby Dragoon was the first pocket revolver to be manufactured by the company at the new Hartford plant since its Patterson days. Approximately 15,000 were made between 1847 and 1850. This is a .31 caliber revolver with a 4 inch octagon barrel. Bore does have rifling, but light pits are visible. Action is good. Cylinder scene is very light. A spot of light pitting on the right side of the barrel. All matching numbers except for the wedge. All metal except for the brass is a grey/brown patina. The backstrap has a tiny amount of the original silver plate over the brass. The grips are good fitting and sound without cracks but have numerous handling marks. Sharp markings for a gun made in 1848. A good collectable Colt.
