Colt, 1871-72 Open Top

Description:
Colt Model 1871–72 Open Top, 44 Rimfire. Colt’s letter, shows this revolver was originally blued with a 7 /12 barrel. Colt was supposedly the one that modified this piece, however they had no record of it. It is beautifully customized with nickel and gold and equipped with Rosewood grips. The gold on the cylinder is just showing a little wear. The action is smooth and tight and in good working order. In total they only made around 7000 of the 1871-72, so it is exceedingly rare.
