Fine, Early Gold Rush Era 1849 Colt Patent Pocket Model, 4" Barrel, Five Shot Revolver
Description:
This fine Colt 31 cal has the two-line New York barrel address and small frame Colt Patent address. It has the early small trigger guard with serial number 25001. It has all matching numbers with the 001 on the wedge and arbor. It remains in fine condition with at least 70% aging and toning blue on the barrel. The cylinder scene remains a strong 95% and has turned a beautiful plum. 85% tarnished original silver plate. 85% original varnish on the fine+ grips. Case coloring has turned a silverish light brown. It has fine markings and crisp mechanics overall. Much better than average. Fine+ overall. A really nice, early revolver with strongly rifled bore with a small amount of fine scattered erosion and pin prick residue in the grooves. This would be a great 4-inch Pocket to case.
