London Marked Colt New Line 32 Cal. Revolver T.W. Watson 4 Pall Mall
Description: Serial #11823, .32 Center fire, 2 ¼ inch barrel with a fine bore with very light frosting and strong rifling. This is the Colt New Line revolver built in 1876 that was marked and sold by T. W. Watson (Watson Brothers) in London. The right side of the barrel is marked "T. W. Watson / 4 Pall Mall London" with "COLTS PT.F.A. MFG. CO. / HARTFORD,CT. U.S.A." on the barrel top and the 1874 patent date underneath with "32 CAL C" on the right side of the frame. No English proof marks are present. Watson Brothers were among several London based, English companies importing and retailing Colt firearms. This example remains in good to very good condition showing much of a later added blue finish with scattered areas of light pitting. The rosewood grips rate near excellent with finish level use marks and are numbered on the outside bottom left grip to a different gun. Mechanically it functions properly with proper timing holding at half and full cock, locking up tight and has a crisp trigger pull. A neat London marked New Line revolver. Antique SOLD Antique: Yes |
